Our first “big” wedding of 2015 was the marriage of Holly and Eric Hinceman on March 14th. They had a five o’clock ceremony officiated by William Higgins. The arbor was decorated by the 1812 Hitching Post and had red roses and white hydrangeas with tulle wrapped around the sides. The couple had a black quilted unity candle with silver tapers that they lit during the ceremony. Black lanterns lined the aisle under the tent so guests could stay warm while Holly and Eric were married in the sun just outside the tent on the brick patio. Holly and Eric held hands without seeing each other just before they walked down the aisle.
After the ceremony and formal photos, the wedding party was announced to their reception to “Shipping Up to Boston.” Great music continued all evening as the guests enjoyed appetizers of bacon wrapped smokies, fig and mascarpone puffs, Carolina crab bites, fruit kebabs, and popcorn from the vintage popcorn machine. The buffet included pulled pork, roast beef, salmon cakes, mashed potatoes, green beans, bourbon and bacon baked beans, and rolls and butter.
The wedding cake was a quilted square lemon pound cake with raspberry filling. Diamond ribbon wrapped the case topped with “Mr. and Mrs. H.” The groom’s cake of red velvet and cream cheese had a UNC Ram logo on top. Tables had black overlays, silver chargers, and red napkins. The chair covers were black spandex with red ribbon sashes. The 1812 Hitching Post provided all the table décor including the two styles of centerpieces. One style had cuved vases wrapped in diamond mesh with white hydrangeas. The other style was a trio of square vases with submerged flowers and floating candles.
Photography was provided by the 1812 Hitching Post photographers, Taylor Gregory and Nicole Huffman.
