DeAnna and Kellen had an elegant outdoor wedding the last Saturday in June with a 5:30 p.m. ceremony.
Ceremony: 1812 Hitching Post decorated the natural wood arbor with silk pink and cream hydrangeas, dogwood branches, cherry blossoms, and greenery. We added pink, navy, and white ribbons to our lanterns and hung them on the aisle. DeAnna chose to have chair covers with pink sashes on her ceremony chairs. The couple’s personalize water bottles were displayed in a galvanized bucket tied with a pink sash. White and pink petals lined the aisle. The 1812 Hitching Post hung their five flags across the front in honor of the servicemen. The bridal party flowers were provided by Moore Buds and Bows.
Reception: The tables had full length navy tablecloths. Chairs were covered and tied with pink sashes. The centerpieces, a trio of floating candles in mason jars tied with raffia on a mirror, were provided by the 1812 Hitching Post. Silver chargers completed the tables.
Menu: Appetizers of shrimp shooters, cheese stuffed mushrooms, fig and mascarpone, bacon wrapped smokies, and pot stickers were served in the main dining room and hand passed to guests.
Entrees of shrimp and grits, sausage, onions & peppers, and roast beef were served with sides of au gratin potatoes, fruit salad, tossed house salad, and corn muffins.
Dessert included a white chocolate fountain with strawberries, brownies, and other dipping items. The vanilla cake with strawberry filling, provided by the 1812 Hitching Post, was a work of art with a gradient of pink to white icing. The cake was adorned with a white hydrangea.
Extras: A highlight of the ceremony was the “welcome to the military” swat provided by friends of the groom. The bride provided party favors of white tea light lanterns tied with their personal message with a pink candle inside. We displayed these on the “Love Is Sweet” stand with a chalkboard. Send-off was with sparklers.
