Jamie & Ray – September Wedding

November 17, 2019 By Wendy Leave a Comment

All photos of this wonderfully memorable wedding are by Taylor Cline Photography.

Jamie gave us a 5-star Google review (THANK YOU!!) with this post:

We live approximately 5 hours away from this venue…I had never heard of it prior to booking it. I was searching for an experience that would be all inclusive and allow us to just show up, yet still have fun celebrating. I wanted a non-stressful day, a day that I could just enjoy…a day that my family and friends could just spend time with us and enjoy before the wedding as well. We love DIY things; however, I wanted this to be different. We have the best family and friends in the world who would have stayed up all night the night before decorating if we asked them to; however, with the 1812 Hitching Post we didn’t have to!

I didn’t see the venue before I booked it, I just booked it by the photos and reviews I was able to find online. From the very beginning Wendy took time on the phone to answer every question I had, allowed payments to be made which kept it affordable, and she was quick to respond to any text message or email I sent. She prefers email communication so she can keep track of everything leading up to the day.

About a month prior to the wedding she sends a sheet for you to answer questions of what you want and how you want it. They have beautiful decor to select from…most pictured online! We gave her a list of songs (some not so popular) and picked a cake style displayed on their website.

I literally showed up the evening of our wedding. JUST SHOWED UP!!!!! Wendy and her husband are so sweet and accommodating. The home and landscaping are just breathtaking. It is an older home so don’t expect perfection, expect unbelievable history and character.

Our package included the decor for both the ceremony and reception (we only provided a couple flowers and small things), the officiant, DJ, cake, bartender, and food. The decor, perfection. The staff are just the sweetest and so professional! The food…DELICIOUS!!! The DJ, that man kept the party going until the moment we left!!!! The cake, beautiful and so tasty!!! The bartenders, kept the drinks coming and were so respectful of everyone.

If you’re wondering if you should go with this venue, please do! You won’t regret it. I had the most relaxing seamless day…and that would not have been possible without Wendy, her husband and her staff.

Wendy, from the bottom of my heart….thank you. I swear (not just because it was our wedding)….that was the best, most fun wedding I’ve been to in my life. Our guests raved about you guys!

Carnice & Alan – September Wedding

November 12, 2019 By Wendy Leave a Comment

This pretty wedding featured blush with navy accents and featured succulents as party favors.

Carnice’s mom had recently passed and Carnice expressed a desire for a circle arbor so we worked to get her one for her wedding and it has been popular ever since! The circle arbor was the perfect backdrop for her blush wedding.

Carnice wrote:

These look wonderful! Thank you so much! It was a pleasure working with you as well. I can’t express how grateful I am to you and the staff for making it a wonderful day for me and Alan and our families! Everything was beautiful and picture perfect. All our guests really loved the venue and food and everything. I always felt in good hands with you and what you executed for us far exceeded my expectations and desires! I know that you guys do weddings all the time but the care and patience both you and your husband had that day really made Alan and I feel quite special. A thousand thank yous!

Kate & Jack – November Wedding

November 7, 2019 By Wendy Leave a Comment

Words cannot adequately express the magical experience of Kate and Jack’s wedding day. The delicate colors, the felt and dried flowers, the perfectly fitted and designed dress, the loving and supportive family, and the thought and care in every detail helped to create the perfect “launch” day for this couple’s lifetime together.

The arbor had white linen drapes tied with four colors of ribbon. The groom’s father provided a Tallit to cover the top of the arbor. The ceremony was so sweet with emotional and tender music including a song from “Up.”

The couple’s meal included appetizers of bruschetta, shrimp shooters, and stuffed mushrooms. Entrees were lump crabcakes and champagne chicken. The adorable cake was topped with a banner and felt flowers.

The table details were a fairyland of mini twinkle lights, moss, and candles with little round dried flowers reminiscent of “Horton Hears a Who.”

Taylor Cline Photography captured the magic and lighting of this sweet November wedding day.

Rhiannon and Erik

November 6, 2019 By Wendy Leave a Comment

The forecast for the day of Rhiannon and Erik’s wedding was rain all the way. Fortunately, she’s the luckiest girl in the world! While other weddings all over the US were rained on for the most popular wedding date in 2019, Rhiannon and Erik’s wedding stayed dry until later in the evening. These gorgeous photos were captured by Taylor Cline Photography.

About the Proprietors

When looking for a place to get married themselves, the Waldrons discovered how difficult it was to plan an intimate, stylish, and romantic wedding that is unique and creative. They created The 1812 Hitching Post so the couples of today could still have the elegance and comfort of a wedding in a homey setting from the past.
