People always ask us – do you do events other than weddings?   We do! We host rehearsal dinners (for our weddings or weddings held elsewhere) and parties such as graduations, retirements, baby shower, bridal showers, anniversaries, reunions, and birthdays. We can also host corporate events and retreats.  Let our staff set up, decorate, and cook for you and your guests.  You’ll have the use of our private property with 26 acres to enjoy!

Your event can be casual or formal with outdoor games, fire pit, delicious food from our on-site kitchen, DJ provided music, and even professional photography!   Have an unforgettable event at the 1812 Hitching Post!

We have pricing packages for gatherings for 12 to 150 people.  Overnight stays at the cottage are available.  Bartender service is available.  Photography is available.

Patrick and Wendy Waldron are the current owners of the farm now known as the 1812 Hitching Post. As an artist and historian, Patrick purchased the home in the early 1980’s and has spent more than 30 years restoring the property so that it stands ready for its 2012 bicentennial.

Wendy joined Patrick in 1999 and is a photographer and event coordinator. Both Pat and Wendy are romantics and have lovingly decorated the 1812 Hitching Post with treasures and finds that have captured their hearts.

When looking for a place to get married themselves, the Waldrons discovered how difficult it was to plan an intimate, stylish, and romantic wedding that is unique and creative. They created The 1812 Hitching Post so the couples of today could still have the elegance and comfort of a wedding in a homey setting from the past.
