Enjoy exclusive access to 26 acres of beautiful lawns, open fields, a private lake, and wooded trails—the perfect backdrop for photos, first looks, and unforgettable guest experiences. Our massive oak is the largest white oak in the county and the 3rd largest in the state of North Carolina. It’s the favorite spot for generations to hold their ceremonies.
Your wedding also includes full use of the historic 1812 main house, featuring:

- Four indoor guest bathrooms
- Full access to all your guests of the first floor porches, veranda, living rooms, music room, and all gathering spaces inside and out.

Your on-site wedding venue coordinator ensures your day unfolds exactly the way you imagine. Most couples do NOT hire an outside wedding planner. Your 1812 Hitching Post Venue Coordinator will manage:

Classic Venue Price includes:
- Rehearsal time on Friday evening with the venue coordinator present – drop off alcohol and other wedding things then
- All day access to the venue from 9 am on Saturday until the end of your reception (you choose the time of your ceremony)
- 5 hours of DJ/sound for your ceremony/reception
- Your choice of any ceremony location on the property
- Ceremony backdrop (availability of arbors depends upon the ceremony location)
- Draping, silk flowers, and greenery for your ceremony (you choose decor; we set it up)
- Ceremony chairs (we set them up)
- Microphone for the minister; sound system and DJ to play your requested music
- Lanterns, tables, baskets, etc., as requested for your ceremony
- Tented option for inclement weather
- Reception tables and chairs (we set them up)
- Full-length tablecloths in your choice of dozens of colors for round tables (we set out linens for you)
- Runners, overlays, and lace if you choose (we set up linens for you)
- Use of any of our centerpiece items (and we set them up for you!)

Add In-House Catering to Make Your Wedding All-Inclusive
Make your wedding planning even easier by adding our in-house catering and bartender service to your venue package. From setup to cleanup, our experienced catering team handles the details so you can enjoy your day with family and friends.
Unlike many wedding venues, we prepare your meal in our on-site commercial kitchen, so your food is served fresh from the kitchen directly to your guests—never transported from another location.
Our staff will:
- Beautifully decorate the buffet tables
- Keep the buffet stocked throughout the meal
- Bus dining tables
- Handle trash removal and cleanup
Your only job is to celebrate!
Classic Buffet Catering
Choose one of the following menu options – each option is $25 per person (in addition to venue price, above):
Taco Bar
Seasoned ground beef and pulled chicken served with hard and soft taco shells, shredded cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pico de gallo, onions, sour cream, Spanish rice, and a fresh salad bar with assorted dressings.

Cocktail Party Reception
Choose any four appetizers from our appetizer menu.
OR
Classic Buffet
Choose one entrée and four side dishes from our catering menu.
Included: High-quality disposable plates, napkins, and flatware.
I Do BBQ Catering
$35 per person
Our signature barbecue menu has become a favorite with couples and guests alike. We slow-smoke our pulled pork in-house, and one recent guest called it “the juiciest pulled pork I’ve ever tasted.”
This package includes:
- Salad bar appetizer
- Signature smoked pulled pork with Carolina barbecue sauce on the side
- Boneless barbecue chicken
- Baked beans
- Macaroni and cheese
- Coleslaw
- Dinner rolls and butter
- Ice cream sundae bar with assorted toppings
Included: Premium disposable plates, coordinating flatware, napkins, and serving ware.

Complimentary Bartender Service
When you reserve both our venue and one of our catering packages, we’ll include our professional bartender service at no additional cost. ($500 add-on for venue-only rentals.)
Our bartender service is available for your reception, and you’re welcome to provide any flavors that will please your guests:

- Canned or bottled beverages (such as Truly® and other hard seltzers)
- Up to three signature mixed drinks (for example, Margaritas, Vodka Cranberries, or similar cocktails)

We had no idea where to start and Wendy helped us every step of the way. The decorations and our cake were more beautiful than I imagined, I was so happy when I walked in and saw our Mrs. & Mr. table and the center pieces on the other tables, they were beautiful!! She was quick to answer any questions we had and work with us on any special things I requested. Our guest had a blast with the dj and bartender and the food was great and so were the workers. It rained the morning of and I was worried that we wouldn’t be able to get married where I wanted, but they made it happen and I was so happy for that. I loved the balcony and being able to use it for my pictures and to write my vows. My husband enjoyed having the grooms room and downstairs and thought it was awesome that I was upstairs and yet it was going to be a surprise to see me. Our guest enjoyed looking around the house and seeing a piece of history. There are so many beautiful places for pictures and we get lots of compliments on ours.
