Alex & Cody

Alex and Cody made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone their wedding from the April date they had originally planned to the first of November. Fortunately, they were able to have the most gorgeous and romantic wedding day!

Our crates, barrels, silk flowers and signs were used at the end of the aisle along with the bride’s provided pumpkins, mums, and birdcages. The guest book was a piece of wood from the old tree where Cody proposed to Alex.

At the reception, we used stacked circles of wood that were provided by the couple and donated to the 1812 Hitching Post (thank you!) for future couples to enjoy. Hitching Post lanterns, pearls, gold candles, chargers, and the bride’s wooden flowers completed the look.

These fabulous photos were provided by Ashley Koch of Broad River Photography. There are a couple images included from my cell phone, too. I couldn’t resist catching the light behind Alex as she walked toward the aisle with her parents!

Meagan & Tyler

I’m so pleased to share these photos of Meagan and Tyler’s beautiful and perfect September wedding. Photography was done by Taylor Sawyer.
Meagan planned a gorgeous wedding with eucalyptus and mauve flowers. We had details everywhere; I wish I’d taken photos myself that evening!

Meagan Wicker-We could not be happier with 1812 Hitching Post for our 9-20-2020 wedding!

I am the type of person who is very detail oriented and Wendy and her team exceeded my expectations!

Cake- the cake was DELICIOUS and beautiful. I found a picture on her website of one I liked and they made mine look similar with cute flower details added! We had buttercream with strawberry filling and marble with chocolate filling. The cake was a hit. It was moist and just sweet enough without being too sweet.

Food- we loved the buffet style and being able to chose between so many options for the menu! The food was delicious, especially the mac and cheese and mashed potatoes.

Decor- this was my favorite part by far! I loved how Wendy has so many decor options already for us to choose from. We bought florist flowers and combined those with lots of Wendy’s items- lanterns, candles, silk flowers, etc. it turned out beautifully. I loved how she executed my vision and I didn’t have to stress at all the day of. Wendy and her team set everything up, even the few decor items we brought. Everything was beautiful.

Customer service- Wendy was always quick to respond to my many questions! She had great ideas and she as very patient with me. All of the staff the day of was kind and accommodating. She uses a checklist that you fill out at least a month before the wedding day, and it’s so organized and gives you peace of mind that everyone will be on the same page and everything will be how you want it on your wedding day.

Overall it was a perfect day! 10/10 would recommend for someone who wants to have a beautiful day with less stress than other venues. We LOVED that 1812 was basically all inclusive. It took so much stress off of us and helped us to enjoy our engagement and then our big day.

The only thing is I wish we could relive the day over and over!! It flew by!

Heather and Robert planned a lovely wedding at the end of October with dark green, gold, and blush elegance. Heather’s mother made the gorgeous centerpieces. Check out the game pieces that each groomsman had on their boutonnieres!

Nicole & Logan

The third weekend of October is always one of the most popular times because of the emerging fall colors. Nikki’s palette of blues and white were the perfect backdrop for her day! The kids (and adults) enjoyed the swing and outdoor games at the reception and the old fashioned popcorn machine was a big hit. Nicole and Logan shared a perfectly choreographed first dance together that was a joy to watch. I love when couples make their weddings uniquely theirs! It was also really sweet of Nikki to donate the lovely slate blue and white roses that we used for her arbor and aisle decor. Thank you!

Savannah & Beau

Savannah’s wedding day transformation was a joy to behold. She exuded beauty and confidence. I really enjoyed getting to know this couple and their families and friends. They picked the most popular Saturday in October and the weather was PERFECT!!

One of the super special components of this wedding was that the bride had seven siblings. The youngest was adorable in his little cap and suspenders.

Wendy and her staff were absolutely wonderful. I got married in October and I wouldn’t have changed a thing. The last month of planning got especially hectic on my end with complicated family dynamics but Wendy was always quick in responding to my emails and open to accommodations.
On the wedding day itself I could not have been more grateful to her and her team. On one occasion a staff member helped fan the train of my dress (it was for a picture right before I walked down the aisle so my bridesmaids were gone), and another member helped with my shoe after I had my first dance.
Wendy also did an excellent job at making sure everything was running smoothly and nothing was forgotten. They made our day a dream come true and I would highly recommend them for your big day!
