“I LOVE weddings in part because I imagine how beautiful the photos will be! I would love to photograph EVERY wedding if I could!
Below are some of my favorite photos that I’ve taken of weddings at the 1812 Hitching Post.”
In NC, you can get a license in any county in the state and bring it with you to the 1812 Hitching Post. If you live outside the state, you need to purchase your license within North Carolina in any county. You can get your license up to 60 days before your wedding date. The two of you would need to be available on a week day during regular business hours to go to the Register of Deeds in any NC county. You may be able to pre-register online in your county.

You will need to have the name and address of the person who will be officiating your ceremony. If we are providing the minister for your wedding, you will list:
Reverend Patrick Waldron
2463 Turnersburg Hwy
Harmony, NC 28634.
We will mail in your license the first business day after your wedding if we provide your ceremony service. Please contact the register of deeds where you purchased your license for any license issues after your marriage.
When looking for a place to get married themselves, the Waldrons discovered how difficult it was to plan an intimate, stylish, and romantic wedding that is unique and creative. They created The 1812 Hitching Post so the couples of today could still have the elegance and comfort of a wedding in a homey setting from the past.
