Tour our Statesville Wedding Venue

The first floor of 1812 Hitching Post is where history, hospitality, and the rhythm of a wedding day come together. From the moment guests arrive, each space flows naturally into the next, creating an experience that feels both intentional and inviting. This level of the home connects our getting-ready areas with the rooms where guests gather, making it easy to move through the day without ever feeling staged or rushed.

Just beyond the entry hall are the dressing areas, thoughtfully placed for a calm start to the day. Upstairs, the bridal dressing rooms offer light-filled spaces for preparation and quiet moments, while on the main level, the partner’s suite provides a relaxed place to gather before the ceremony. These rooms are tucked just close enough to the heart of the home to feel connected, yet private enough to preserve anticipation.

The entry hall itself sets the tone. It links every first-floor space and becomes one of the most meaningful moments of the day. After descending the staircase, the bride typically pauses near the front door of the historic living room—gathering herself before stepping outside to walk down the aisle. It is a moment steeped in tradition, framed by architecture that has witnessed generations of celebration.

Before the ceremony and throughout the reception, guests are welcome to move through the first floor gathering areas including our Welcome room, historic living room, and music room—each offering its own sense of place. A log cabin built in 1812 anchors the home with warmth and authenticity. The living room and welcome spaces invite conversation, connection, and quiet reflection. Together, these first-floor rooms create a seamless backdrop for gathering, greeting, and the unforgettable moments that unfold.
