Crystal contacted me after her destination venue was devastated by a hurricane. She had a specific vision that included shades of pink for her ceremony and reception. The aisle was decorated with three shades of pink and the cake gradient went from dark pink to ivory. Even the candy bar was all pink! The bride and groom led a “second line dance” New Orleans style to lead off their reception. Enjoy the lovely photos of her wedding taken by Enchantment Designs.
Wendy was amazing! The day was absolutely perfect. Wendy allowed me to email her sometimes up to 10 times a day. We would text each other and she let me communicate to her my vision. I cannot say enough about the venue, and Wendy. We were married at 1812 Hitching Post on April 14, 2018 and people are still coming up to my parents and telling them how pretty everything looked and how wonderful the day was. I will never forget how warm and open she was from our first meeting and I will always be eternally grateful for having her in my life to make my wedding day the best day of our lives!
I’m excited to be able to share photos from this beautiful wedding last April of Tammy and Jamie. The wedding photos are by Kim Wall with a few in there from Wendy Waldron. Bridal portraits are by Emby Taylor Photography.
Tammy posted this review on WeddingWire:
“Wendy and her team were extremely organized and treated Jamie and I like we were their only clients throughout the entire wedding process. Wendy was very flexible with any and all ideas I had and changes we made to the contract. I felt like I hardly had to lift a finger the entire planning process or the day of! Wendy’s checklist made things extremely easy to communicate my desires for decor and she decorated and planned around my themes. The planning seemed effortless and that was exactly what I wanted…I didn’t want to have to make a million decisions and find a million vendors…they did it all! The day of went perfectly! She had everything ready and beautifully decorated to with my ideas and suggestions in place. She was like a quiet ninja in the background organizing everyone and everything. We truly felt like she wasn’t just our wedding planner, but she was part of the family. Her attentiveness to our wants and needs was truly appreciated. My only advice…if you are like me and love to dance, I totally suggest investing in some extra hours. I would have liked the party to continue with more dancing, but overall I was extremely happy with our decision to use the HP!”
and she sent me this email (that made me cry):
“As I sit here on my last day of my honeymoon…trying to avoid reality… I wanted to reach out to you before I am back in the chaos of work and busy schedules. I just wanted to extend a “Thank You” for all your hard work and dedicated attention you gave to Jamie and I for our wedding. Not just the day of, but all the planning leading up to as well. I am not sure it could have gone off any better. It was a perfect day (God’s Blessing) but you made it so great by how well everything was decorated and organized and just overall put together. I don’t feel like I had to do a thing! I am anxious to see the pictures to really remember and see the details of all the decor. It was all so adorable and I am not sure I could have planned it any better than how it was put together.
The cake was gorgeous, the aisle was beautiful, I LOVED the arbor… the signage was great! I loved all the centerpieces and thought the reception looked fantastic. I wish I had the time to go around and look at it all with closer attention to take in all the details. Hoping the pictures will help capture those moments. I was so happy that the s’mores bar and fire pit were used! Even though I didn’t get a chance to go over there, I feel like a campfire is the epitome of what Jamie and I love.
I’m sure I’m forgetting to thank you for something…but I just wanted to say how happy Jamie and I are that we chose the Hitching Post for our big day. We were extremely grateful for all you and your team did to make our day the best it could be! Jamie thought it went off without a hitch and I know I was happy the entire night!
Thank you again for all you did. I don’t believe you provide just a service of helping give a wedding… I feel like you become a part of our family helping us organize and make it the best you can for us. The personalized touches and attentiveness we both felt is something beyond what you can put a price on. It is truly obvious that you enjoy what you do. And you do a great job at making the bride and groom feel like we are your only clients!
I love the HP and we may want to come out there for some photos on our 1 year anniversary! You and the HP will always have a fond place in our hearts whenever we look back at how we started our new journey as husband and wife. Not sure “thank you” really covers how grateful we are. It was beautiful.

The lighting in April is so clear and fresh and PERFECT for weddings! Matt and Jessica had the ultimate 72 degree day for their mid-April wedding. The 6 p.m. ceremony was held in a corral with live musicians playing. Bridesmaid’s wore dresses of cobalt blue (horizon) and the groomsmen were in pale gray suits. The flowers were whites and spring green with just a touch of blue. This was such a gorgeous wedding!
Each place setting at the reception was set with silver chargers and white plates. The couple topped the plate with their wrapped cookie party favor. Koozies were by the bar as an additional party favor. Photography was provided by Taylor Cline.
Shake off the winter blues; nothing says spring like tulips! Cailin and Michael choose a “Love Bird” theme with mint green and pink. Michael wore his pink tie as a blindfold to meet with Cailin before the ceremony without seeing her.
The arbor had drop crystals and live flowers with babies breath. Babies breath lined the aisle in blue mason jars. The bride’s niece and nephew were flower girl and ring bearer. The cake was strawberry on the inside with mint icing dusted with gold sprinkles. They also had a naked gluten free cake topped with golden chocolate bunnies.
These gorgeous photos were taken by Taylor Gregory Photography. I LOVE the ring shots!
When looking for a place to get married themselves, the Waldrons discovered how difficult it was to plan an intimate, stylish, and romantic wedding that is unique and creative. They created The 1812 Hitching Post so the couples of today could still have the elegance and comfort of a wedding in a homey setting from the past.
