Alex & Cody

January 1, 2021 By Wendy Leave a Comment

Alex and Cody made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone their wedding from the April date they had originally planned to the first of November. Fortunately, they were able to have the most gorgeous and romantic wedding day!

Our crates, barrels, silk flowers and signs were used at the end of the aisle along with the bride’s provided pumpkins, mums, and birdcages. The guest book was a piece of wood from the old tree where Cody proposed to Alex.

At the reception, we used stacked circles of wood that were provided by the couple and donated to the 1812 Hitching Post (thank you!) for future couples to enjoy. Hitching Post lanterns, pearls, gold candles, chargers, and the bride’s wooden flowers completed the look.

These fabulous photos were provided by Ashley Koch of Broad River Photography. There are a couple images included from my cell phone, too. I couldn’t resist catching the light behind Alex as she walked toward the aisle with her parents!

Linda & Ted – November Wedding

December 8, 2019 By Wendy Leave a Comment

Linda gave us a 5-star review on “The Knot” which I’ve posted, below. Thanks so much, Linda!

Their  wedding included their children and people they loved with a special ceremony including readings and a hymn sung by the entire group. It was lovely!

Please view their photos by Wendy Waldron Photography, below.

Linda wrote:
The Waldrons hosted our small (bride, groom, and about 40 others) ceremony and reception at their historic home on a lovely Sunday in November. We could not have imagined a more beautiful or meticulously organized event! Through their passion for perfection and their years of experience, the Waldrons have fashioned an ideal setting for one-stop weddings. The home and grounds are welcoming and well-designed to accommodate separate dressing areas for the bridal party, waiting areas, and a variety of expandable spaces for ceremonies and receptions. It’s easier to list the items they did not provide than those that they did: we brought our own candles, clothing, and flowers for the bridal party. Bearing in mind our preferences, the Waldrons provided and expertly coordinated everything else, including the photography; silk flowers for the arbor and reception tables; a DJ and sound system for both ceremony and reception; a variety of foods and drinks for the reception; and the wedding cake. They were even prepared to furnish an officiant, if needed.

Kate & Jack – November Wedding

November 7, 2019 By Wendy Leave a Comment

Words cannot adequately express the magical experience of Kate and Jack’s wedding day. The delicate colors, the felt and dried flowers, the perfectly fitted and designed dress, the loving and supportive family, and the thought and care in every detail helped to create the perfect “launch” day for this couple’s lifetime together.

The arbor had white linen drapes tied with four colors of ribbon. The groom’s father provided a Tallit to cover the top of the arbor. The ceremony was so sweet with emotional and tender music including a song from “Up.”

The couple’s meal included appetizers of bruschetta, shrimp shooters, and stuffed mushrooms. Entrees were lump crabcakes and champagne chicken. The adorable cake was topped with a banner and felt flowers.

The table details were a fairyland of mini twinkle lights, moss, and candles with little round dried flowers reminiscent of “Horton Hears a Who.”

Taylor Cline Photography captured the magic and lighting of this sweet November wedding day.

Ariel & Josh – November Wedding

November 3, 2018 By Wendy Leave a Comment

Burlap and babies breath in mason jars provided the ceremony decor for this early November wedding with 60 guests. We decorated the aisle with silk fall leaves and the bride’s provided pumpkins and welcome sign. Guests signed a canvas and had cute blankets for the guests with a “in case you get cold” sign.

The reception menu included pulled pork, honey baked chicken, roasted red potatoes, mac and cheese, french cut green beans, and appetizers of fruit, asparagus in asiago, and crostini with pimento cheese and bacon.

The bride provide menu cards which we placed on white china plates and gold charges. Tables were decorated in burlap and lace.

Laura & Ernest – Honeymoon Elopement

November 24, 2017 By Wendy Leave a Comment

The first of November is traditionally the peak of color in North Carolina.  Laura and Ernest planned a lovely wedding with just the two of them.  They arrived the day before after picking up their wedding license in town, and spent the night in the Willow Cottage at the 1812 Hitching Post.  The next day, Laura went to town to have her hair and make-up done.  She came back and we had a lovely ceremony on the side lawn surrounded by fall colors.

Their cake topper of two Adirondack chairs, a mini pumpkin, and some tiny fall leaves was a perfect feature.  The couple shared a first dance on the lawn and a glass of champagne.

After the ceremony, the couple spent a lovely afternoon on the property and another night at the cottage.
